Praying Like The Prophets

Muslims (those who submit to the will of God) perform ablution before prayer.

“Then David rose from the ground, WASHED (wudu) and anointed himself, and put on fresh clothes, he entered the house of the Lord and prostrated (Sujood) himself there” (Samuel 12:20)
“they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants to come.”
(Exodus 30:21)

“and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet.”
(Exodus 40:31)

The first position of prayer, Muslims lift up their hands palms out at the side of the head.

“I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.”
(Psalm 63:4)

Muslims while lifting up their hands proclaim: “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great)

“Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.” (Psalm 48:1)

All the prophets in the Bible Prayed as Muslims
Pray today this includes Jesus (Peace be upon him) and his disciples.

“And Abraham fell on his face, and God talked with him…”
(Genesis 17:3)

(Moses and Aaron) “…they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.” (Numbers 20:6)
(Joshua) “…fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until eventide…” (Joshua 7:6)
(During the reign of Solomon) “…they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped…”
(2 Chronicles 7:3)

In the time of Nehemiah the forms of worship are clearly described.

“…lifting up their hands and they bowed their hands, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.” (Nehemiah 8:6)
(Jesus) “Going little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed…” (Mathew 26:39)

(Even Jesus’s disciples submitted as Muslims)

“When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.” (Matthew 17:6)
(Elijah) “…bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.”
(1 Kings 18:42)

(During the reign of Solomon) “…they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD”
(2 Chronicles 7:3)

“…fall before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God.”
(Revelations 7:11)

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;” (Psalm 95:6)
“…all who go down to the dust will kneel before him…”
(Psalm 22:29)
“…Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.”
(Judges 13:20)
When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The LORD –he is God! The LORD –he is God!” (1 Kings 18:39)

“…I fell upon my face, and cried, and said Ah Lord GOD!”
(Ezekiel 9:8)

“…David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times…” (1 Samuel 20:41)
“…And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?” (Joshua 5:14)
“And it came to pass, that, when Abraham’s servant heard the words, he worshipped the LORD, BOWING himself to the earth.” (Genesis 24:52)

DO you pray like the messengers of God have prayed?

We must realize that human beings chosen by God to bring Gods massage are the best of human beings.

To not follow their lead is illogical and arrogant.

Bow down and prostrate to God and ask for guidance. It is God, alone, who can guide us.
“And be steadfast in prayer; Practice regular charity; And bow down your hands With those who bow down.” (Holy Quran 2:45)
